Our recommended Modem for SMS transfer -the MultiTech MultiConnect rCell- is equipped with a Linux operating system.
This modem can be direct connected to using it's command line interface, if SSH is enabled on the modem.
Connect as admin directly via SSH command line.
After a successful login, you can switch to the root account by typing:
sudo su
In some cases it maybe necessary to add the admin account to /etc/sudoers first.
Once this is done the modem is enable to use via Linux. For example you can find log files with more detailed information under /var/log.
